Having your own domain name for your website or blog is an important aspect of your online presence specially if you are looking at it in the long terms. Nowadays, you see domain names as a branding, it represents your online presence or company. Your domain name is what online visitors and browser will recognize you for, so it is becoming an important part of having a web site, having your own domain name for it.

We always take time to promote and market our web site or blog, but if you are currently using a free-hosted account and currently use a free domain name that is not your own, then you are not promoting and marketing your own branding and your own name.
