I love interior decorating. I always find myself re-arranging and adding more decors in different parts of the house like the living room, bedroom, etc. I specially like dining room furniture that are more traditional and preferably made of wood. Life Without Electricity

I remember before when we had a very radical snow storm one time, accumulating snow by the foot in a matter of few hours and the storm lasted for days. It was a complete disaster for us. There were lots of broken trees and huge trees that were down, knocking out electrical power supplies in the neighborhood. A lot of times power outage can be fixed in a matter of few hours specially when theres not a lot of wires and electrical poles that got damage during the storm. But that particular snow storm that we had, we didnt have a power for almost a week, and i personally thought it was a complete nightmare.

A lot of times, we dont realize how dependent we are on electricty and power. We live our day to day life using lights, refrigerator, water, and our normal lifestyle nowadays depends on electricity like using the computers, internet, and the telivision. Normal things that we normally do in regular days, we dont realize how we depend on these things too much, until one day its not available for use, in times like storms. We normally dont ponder and think how much we depend on electricty, until one storm can put off our power supply, and all of a sudden, our daily routine and tasks are put on hold, and we are put in a halt!

Quite A Busy Day For Sunday

I just done some catching up with some of the tags and memes that I wanted to do but never had the chance to do it thess past few days. We originally planned to go to Home and Landscape Expo today at CalExpo here in California, but yesterdays weather news said that its gonna be stormy today. So I ended up telling my hubby last night that going there in a rainy and stormy condition might be a hassle driving and trying to get there. So we ended up just staying at home today and try to staying warm. If not because of the weather that dragged me to stay under our roof, it would have been so cool to be there at the Expo, checking out the latest and greatest new products for both homes and gardens. Today is the last day out of the 3-day event, so we might have to wait another year to see the next one.

It Snowed In The Bay Area

According to the Weather Channel yesterday, Santa Clara County near San Francisco got hit by some dustings of snow! It was definitely something that you dont hear in the news on a yearly basis. Before, I always thought that it snows in all parts of the United States every winter time, and then I found out that it actually doesnt. Low, sea level places like San Francisco or Los Angeles can only get a snow once in a blue moon! Since I got here, yesterday was my first time that Santa Clara County in the Bay Area actually got some few inches of snow, and thats a rarity. My hubby said that the last time it snowed in the Bay Area 1974-75 and 1994. And according to the weather news, snow in San Francisco area only get around 10 snowfall occurences in 155 years, so I wonder if yesterday snowfall is considered one of those rare counting.

In the world weather news, just want to add here that in China , they also got hit by a major snowfall these past few days, which never happened there in 10 years.

The New Lead Singer Of Journey Is A Filipino

I was just doing my blog rounds when I saw my co-blogger Au post about Arnel Pineda joining Journey Band. Arnel Pineda is a Filipino artist, originally from Quezon City, Philippines, was recently discovered by the famous american rock band, Journey. Thanks to the popularity of YouTube nowadays, more and more deserving artists like Arnel Pineda, are discovered.

I remember my sister owning a cassette tape of Journey music, and we used to listen to their great songs all the time. One of our favorite Journey music is the song called Faithfully. For all those who are not familiar with the Journey, it is an American Rock Band based in San Francisco California. They have hit songs that were popular specially around the 1970s and 1980s. And its amazing to know that their new Lead Singer is Arnel Pineda, from the Philippines. Best of luck to the Journey Band and to their new lead singer, Arnel Pineda.

1. How long have you been blogging?
Ive been blogging for less than a year. I first started around February 2007, and did it out of curiosity of the Blogger blogging software and to display some of my photograpies. Ive been blogging on and off since then, then finally decided to update my blogs more often starting just this November 2007! 2. What inspired you to write a blog, and who are your mentors?
My original intention for starting to blog is to post some of my photography works. I like to take pictures, and I thought blogging would give me the opportunity to display them online. But then I ended up writing more than I posted any of my photography works. I basically just started blogging on my own, and experimenting on it, and getting inspired by some big companies that I read in a magazine that I subscribed saying that blogging is fast growing, and I want to be part of that growth, kind of.

3. What are the 3 things that you love about being online?
First, i love the internet because I consider it the Information Super Highway! Whatever question I have in my head, I can browse online to find for answers. Second, being online give me the chance to display my photography and my writings, and let others see it too. Third, I can virtually shop anywhere in the world, I can travel anywhere, explore places with just a click of a mouse, and that why I ended up developing my other blog, www.ClickingMouse.com

4. What are the three things that you struggle with in the online-world?
First, its like watching a TV, the more you sit in front of the computer, the more you miss times spending with your family and friends in the real world. Second, i love photography, i can just click my camera everytime, but when I uploaded them in my computer, its eating my harddisk memory away, and its slowing my computer speed. Third, i hate scammers and spammers that are all over the net.

American Idol Applicant Singing His Original Song

Last night was the second day showing of American Idol Season 7, a two-hour show starting at eight oclock and ended at ten oclock pacific time. We missed the first part of the show, around thirty minutes of it because I was blogging and was not sure exactly what time the show was starting, i thought it would start at nine oclock. I tried waking up my Hubby from his short nap at eight, but I guess he was that tired, he didnt hear me, so I decided to let him take the nap. Thirty minutes since the show started, my hubby called me and told me why I didnt wake him up, American Idol already started!

Last night audition show was held in Dallas Texas, with lots of aspiring artists as you can see, the auditorium was full and hundreds of applicants lined up for their turn to face Simon, Randy and Paula in the judging room! One of the person who auditioned, that definitely made a presence was a guy named Renaldo Lapuz from Reno Nevada wearing a white shinny cape with a matching wing-designed hat. When he first appeared on screen, being interviewed by Ryan in the queue, we thought that he was probably just one of those non-serious applicant just want to dress up to be on tv. But when he started singing his original song composition titled, Were Brothers Forever, he did pretty good, even Simon liked him! My hubby thought he was Filipino, and I said, probably not. And then I went to my co-blogger Chant blog today, and she mentioned that Renaldo Lapuz, is indeed a filipino (a guy from the Philippines). Eight Glass Of Water A Day

I will never forget when my elementary school teacher told us that day, that each person should take around eight (8) glasses of water a day. When I came home that day, i started counting how many glasses of water I actually consumed every day. Although, I dont remember my average daily water consumption, but I know that I had a hard time making it to eight glasses, as far as I can recall. When I was young, I rarely drink a coffee in the morning, I usually just had a glass of hot chocolate drink or milk to go with the breakfast. And took a glass of water or juice every after meal, so thats an additional three glasses of water, making it total to four glasses. And sometimes, I ended up grabbing a glass of water when Im thristy after playing, that makes it total of five glasses.

These days, I usually just have a coffee with milk in the morning, a glass of juice or soda after each meal, and a bottle of water at bed time. With that, I am still way below the healthy eight (8) glasses of water per day recommendation. I dont know how big the glass should be, there are all kinds and shapes of glass available nowadays. I dont know how true, as far as eight glasses of water is the healthy and recommended amount. This is one of those things that I learned in my elementary days that still fresh in my memory.

Its funny how two neighboring towns have totally different weather. We came out of the house with the sun hitting most area of the yard, although its not quite hot yet since some of the snow from few days earlier still remained in the ground unmelted. But the sky was blue outside with occassional fluppy white clouds every now and then passing by. As we drove down away from the town and arrived to the next town, the weather was totally different, it was definitely a drastic change. Because in the next town, it was dark and foggy and the visibility was so unclear. There was no sign of the sun, and the temperature started dropping for almost ten degrees. Both towns are only few miles away, so it was weird how the weather was so different. Good thing that we were not wearing summer clothes.

And atleast we have idea if we should bring some spare clothes in the car just incase they are needed. Just like one time, we ended had to stop by to a store to buy some tank top because our weather was cold that day, and we went to a place that almost had a 100 degrees summer heat.

Baked Chicken And The One That Works

I just done eating meal after an hour and a half of baking two pieces of chickens quarters. I baked the pieces of chicken for more than an hour by putting it in a oiled-sprayed glass oven-safe dish. Then I flipped and brushed some honey-barbeque sauce to the chicken meats for added flavoring every 15 minutes while baking.

Fifteen minutes before the baked chicken was done, i started cooking the Rice-A-Roni, the rice-and-beans flavored one which we never tried before. We love to eat Rice-A-Roni, because they have all kinds of different flavors available, make the whole rice thingy more tasteful and flavoreful to eat, instead of the traditional plained steamed rice that I was accustomed to. But as it came out, the Rice and Beans flavored Rice-A-Roni came out eeky for our taste, we did not like it at all. I just wished that we have Garden-Fresh or Mexican-Rice flavored instead, would have been so much better!

We decided that we cannot eat the rice-and-beans flavored rice because it was so saucy and the taste just didnt work for us. Good thing that we have a box of Potato Buds handy, which is a quick and easy to prepare mashed potato! Just needed to boil water, milk and butter, and then add the potato buds, stir and serve, viola a mashed potato ready to serve! Its good that we have the Potato Buds handy because it definitely save the whole meal for the evening! As for the rice-and-beans flavored saucy rice, our dogs were loving it!
